Services Covered
We provide chimney sweeping, Level 1 and Level 2 inspections, stainless-steel liner installation, and masonry repair for wood-burning and gas-vented appliances. The local climate profile records 7,800 heating degree days. That means long winters and heavy use, which drives demand for annual sweeps and regular inspection cycles. Two distinct seasons for two distinct jobs. Sweeps and inspections spike from September as households book before the first burn, and again in January when something goes wrong. Masonry runs the other way: mortar will not cure below roughly 40 degrees. So crown rebuilds and tuckpointing are May-to-September work. The book fills by March.
Minnesota adopts the International Mechanical Code through the Minnesota Mechanical Code, Minnesota Rules chapter 1346. Liner installations and structural chimney rebuilds are permitted work almost everywhere in the metro. Sweeps and inspections are not. The configured typical permit fee is $110. We pull permits where required and include that cost in written estimates.
Scheduling and Payment
You book by phone or through our online form. We confirm the date, time, and scope in writing before we arrive. Payment is due on completion unless we have arranged terms in advance for larger masonry projects. We accept checks, cards, and electronic transfer.
If you need to reschedule, call at least 24 hours ahead. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a trip charge equal to one hour of labor. Weather delays happen, especially during the 51 inches of annual snow we see here. We will reschedule at no charge if conditions make safe roof access impossible.
Liability and Limits
We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Our work complies with NFPA 211 and local mechanical codes. If we find a hazard during inspection, we document it in writing and explain the risk. Choosing not to repair a documented hazard shifts responsibility to you.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage we did not cause, for conditions we explicitly advised you to repair, or for failures that result from deferred maintenance after our recommendation. Warranty and Dispute Resolution
We warrant our labor for one year from the date of service. Manufacturer warranties on liners, caps, and dampers vary by product; we pass those through and help you file claims if needed. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, lack of maintenance, or events outside our control.
If you have a problem with our work, call us first. We will return to inspect and make it right at no charge if the issue falls under warranty; disputes that cannot be resolved directly may be submitted to binding arbitration under Minnesota law, with each party bearing its own costs.
